Scared Weird Little Guys

Based in: Melbourne, VIC

The Scared Weird Little Guys are John Fleming and Rusty Berther. Formed in Melbourne in 1990 the Guys have built up a strong following not only in Melbourne but all over Australia. They have performed in many Festival programs, corporate and private functions, public seasons, promotions as well as TV and Radio.

The guys stormed the Adelaide Fringe Festival where they sold out the prestigious Star Club in 1996 and Big Red in 1998, also selling out shows through the history of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival including the main town hall in 1997 and 1998.

Since 1991 the Guys have been touring in North America, where they have done more than 15 trips including Campus, festival and Comedy Club tours of the US and Canada.

They were voted Best Comedy Act on U.S. Campuses in 1994 and 1995 (NACA), and Best Variety Act on Canadian Campuses 1995 and 1996 (COCA) and have been given countless awards by individual colleges for being most popular campus act.

In August 1997 the Scaredies ventured to the UK for the first time performing sold out shows at the Assembly Rooms as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They are set to return in 1998 to play at the Speigeltent.

The Scaredies have released three CDs in the last few years, "Bloody Jeff", “Scared”, and "The Macadamia" and enjoy playing with a variety of other musicians. At the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 1998, the Guys did a new show entitled "Score" which featured an 80 piece symphony orchestra and a 230 voice choir in a spectacular “Last night of the proms” style show.

With shows in five different countries the Scaredies have racked up close to two and a half thousand shows; they are experienced multi-media performers as well as being consummate instrumentalists, singers and composers. They bristle with “edge” and split second rapport, which must be seen to be appreciated.
