Carneval

Having received standing ovations on tour with Tommy Emmanuel, Savage Garden and at the Victorian Arts Centre, the Carneval Strings have also typically been described by elated brides as “unique and unforgettable”. Over the past 10 years the Carneval Strings have performed throughout Australia and Asia. They have been regular support artists on ‘Hey Hey It’s Saturday’, ‘In Melbourne Tonight’ and ‘Good Morning Australia.’

Carneval’s television appearances have included performances with Enya, Jon Stevens, Tommy Emmanuel, Wendy Mathews, Daryl Braithwaite, David Gates, Rick Price, Caroline O’ Connor, Soraya, Renee Geyer, David Hobson, David Hirschfelder, and Antennae. The Carneval musicians have studied abroad, at Melbourne University Conservatorium, the Victorian College of the Arts, the Australian National Academy of Music, and privately with teachers of international standing. Over many years Carneval musicians have enjoyed receiving awards and scholarships for their high standard of playing. Between them they have performed throughout Australia, Europe, Japan, and South Africa.

Over the past 10 years the Carneval Strings has had the great pleasure of performing to many people including celebrities Kylie Minogue, Kimberly Davies, Darryl Somers, and Robert Allenby. Carneval have also performed at the Adelaide Honda Music Festival, the Falls Creek Chamber Music Festival, the Northern Territory Brolga Awards, the Presidents Cup Dinner, The Australian Open, the Commonwealth International Tennis Tournament, and many more. In 2000 Carneval released their first album titled ‘Modern Wedding Bridal Waltz’. This was produced in collaboration with Warner Music and Modern Wedding Magazine. The album features Carneval’s own arrangements of music spanning from the traditional romance of the European Waltz to the passionate Latin American tango.

Most importantly, Carneval musicians love what they do. Audiences love it too.
